Purchased from the original owner, who procured it in June 2021 direct from a Harmony dealer in Australia.
The guitar is flawless.. after thorough inspection there isn’t a mark to be found, nor a fault in workmanship.
USA made in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory (under the Heritage brand of instruments) this is an amazing, high end reproduction, of the Harmony guitars from the 60’s. But.. with incredible attention to detail, modern appointments and excellent quality control - especially at this price point!
At first I thought this reproduction, small body guitar would be neck heavy but both sitting and standing it feels incredibly comfortable (especially sitting). The 25” scale length with 22 frets feels like the perfect ‘in between’ of Fender meets Gibson for this body type.
I’ve played an original Harmony Juno, and it wasn’t a phenomenal guitar to play, but this is the first reproduction I’ve played and I’m impressed.
It has a C profile, more reminiscent of a vintage C than an ultra thin modern C, but not a ‘chunky’ neck in any way either. Very Tele esq..
Superb resonance and ultimately appealing to any guitarist that isn’t a shredder. Frets are of medium profile and well finished.
It has a pair of P90 gold foils and one volume control. Nice amount of bite or warmth depending on how you decide to ‘drive’ it. I particularly like the neck and middle positions, but that’s just personal preference.
The electronics include an Orange drop capacitor that rolls off almost all of the guitars treble when you pull the cupcake volume knob. Too much, if I’m honest. It sounds ok but it almost requires a complete adjustment of your amps settings to make this a highly desirable feature IMO.. That said, after looking at the electronics, a simple mod can completely enhance this feature and add some really cool tonal elements without extra routing or signficant expense.
Feel free to arrange a time to come and inspect it in TMA’s jam room. We always have an array of vintage and modern amps to demo it through.
